Unfocused and a total mess in narrative sensibilities. Perry and Haddish again show audiences that we're the fool for lining up at the box office for this trippin' tripe.

It won't stick with you for very long, but at the very least you'll enjoy your night out at the cinema. Tiffany Haddish carries every scene she's in and gives the movie some much-needed energy in it's flattest scenes.

Haddish brings 'Nobody's Fool' to above-average quality.

A complete trainwreck virtually from beginning to end...

You feel like you're the victim of a cruel bait-and-switch, lured into thinking Nobody's Fool would be a crappy but nevertheless entertaining Tiffany Haddish movie, only to have it turn out to be a crappy but nevertheless crappy Tyler Perry movie.

When Tiffany is not around [Nobody's Fool] falls into the same formula...it doesn't really resonate. The writing was kind of weak.

Writer-director Tyler Perry throws all kinds of ideas at us, but he never manages to get over the basic problem at the center of his script: Sumpter's character is shallow and unlikeable, while Haddish's... wears out her welcome in record time.

This had two good laughs and some chuckles. It's stupid but it works on its basic level.

I'm getting a headache from this movie.

I respect Tyler Perry's hustle, but this mess...I wouldn't spend a damn coin seeing this, and I'm still mad.
November 5, 2018
The first eighty minutes of Nobody's Fool finds Perry at his raggedy, crowd pleasing best. The final twenty minutes highlight some of the worst work of his career.

It's something like five movies in one. Or maybe it's five movies in two. Or six movies in three. It's a mess, whatever it is, but it's not without its charms.

When Haddish is not lighting up the screen with her over-the-top antics, what's left is just a predictable, poorly-plotted, Tyler Perry morality play.

Ostensibly, this is the tale of someone learning to find beauty and grace in life's imperfections, but the filmmaker consistently gets too distracted by low-hanging jokes to deservedly convince us why that's a commendable goal.

New studio contract, same ol' Tyler Perry.

I still think Perry, who has made 18 feature films, will eventually make his masterpiece of American cinema. This is far from it.

Too much of "Nobody's Fool" makes do with well-worn exchanges and contrived, overheard conversations.

Once again, Perry puts a good cast into a muddy story that lacks a clear premise, plot or theme.

It eventually dissolves into the usual Perry morass, where nobody onscreen is behaving like a real person and you spend the last half-hour tapping your foot impatiently while making the "move it along" motion with your hand.
