It's difficult to match the atmosphere and sense of danger created by the first Halloween and David Gordon Green falls short in this new iteration. [Full Review in Spanish]

In yet another example of a franchise that refuses to die here comes the 11th Halloween film, and while it's not brilliant or terribly clever it is certainly good enough and scary enough to make up for some of the more awful sequels in the series.

Satisfying for genre fans and tolerable for non-fans, Halloween does homage quite well even if its peaks are too few and far between.

Isn't there something more than a touch #metoo in the satisfying spectacle of three generations of women uniting to take on the big bad man who's ruined their lives?

There are better examples of a modern slasher than this Halloween out there. It's just that this one is still better than the vast majority of its imitators.

Though a far more visceral experience than the original, Halloween still manages to provide the nostalgic thrills we remember from the 1978 classic.

It's no different than the multitude of ways that the movies have shown purgers upping the ante for each year's celebration. And that's the problem.
